Warm And Spicy Stewed Apples
Stewed apples are soothing to the digestive tract and wonderful for anybody with gastrointestinal problems.
Serves 4
Ingredients
- 4 apples, core removed and chopped
- 1 teaspoon or more of ground cinnamon
- ½ teaspoon ground nutmeg
- ¼ teaspoon or more of ground ginger
- 1 teaspoon honey or maple syrup (optional)
- ¼ cup water
Method
- Place all ingredients into a pot and heat on the stove until it simmers.
- Turn the heat down to low, stir and allow to cook for approximately 30 minutes, or until the apples are very soft.
- Stir every so often and if the mixture dries out too much, add a little more water.
- Serve for dessert with a dollop of canned coconut cream.
